SMU Managers trained on Hostel Administration Management System (HAMIS)

SWA Strategic Management Unit (SMU) Managers on 25th July 2018, underwent training on the Hostel Administration Management Information System (HAMIS) at the Information Communication and Technology Center (ICTC) in Chiromo Campus.

Joining the Unit Heads were several SWA Chief Officers and staff who included the Director, Prof. Jackson Maalu, Deputy Finance Officer CPA Peter Ngari, the Chief Halls Officer Mr. Simeon Odera and the Deputy Chief Halls Officer (HAMIS) Mr. Zadock Opole. The facilitator was Mr. Peter Kariuki, who is the ICTC Deputy Director in-charge of Management Information Systems (MIS).

The purpose of the training was for the SMU Heads to familiarize themselves with the system and get rights to the system. This will help in monitoring and solving accommodation issues at a SMU level.

HAMIS is as a management information system that allocates accommodation to students online using their details entered in the Student Management Information System (SMIS) at registration in their first year. The students have to apply for accommodation in the beginning of every academic year once the portal on SMIS is opened.
