54TH GRADUATION CEREMONY ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2015

The 54th Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday, December 4, 2015
in the Chancellor’s Court. In order for the function to run smoothly all
members of the University community are advised to observe the following
requirements:-

1.OFFICES

(a)Offices in all Campuses will operate normal opening and closing hours.

(b)Both Jomo Kenyatta Memorial and Chiromo Library will be closed on,
Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 4.00 p.m and re-open at 8.00 a.m. on Monday,
December 7, 2015.  All other libraries will operate as usual.

(c)Telephone switchboards in all campuses will operate as usual.

The Central Catering Unit (CCU) will be used for reception on the
Graduation         Day and therefore, it will not be used for any other
functions.  Further details on         resumption of services and use of
facilities will be given by the Director, SWA.

2.GRADUATION PROGRAMME

(a)7.30 a.m.        -  Graduands take their seats
(b)7.30 a.m.        -  All guests to be seated
(c)7.45 a.m.        -  Fanfare
(d)7.45 a.m.        - Academic Procession enters the Chancellor’s Court

All academic staff who will join the academic procession are requested to
assemble by 7.20 a.m. at the Chancellor’s Court.


3.PARKING ARRANGEMENTS

(a)To facilitate security arrangements, vehicles will be parked according
to the Traffic Police direction.  However, members of staff who may wish
to leave their vehicles at the usual parking areas on the Main and Chiromo
Campuses and walk to the Chancellor’s Court may do so provided that their
vehicles have a University Car-Pass.

(b)PARKING AND SEATING ARRANGEMENTS

(i)Vehicles with RED TRIANGLAR CAR STICKER will approach the graduation
venue through GATE 1  (i.e. St. Paul’s  Chapel, State House Road) and park
according to police direction.

(ii)Vehicles with RECTANGULAR  RED CAR STICKER will enter through GATE 6 
next to Chiromo Inter-Change  (formerly Museum Roundabout) access road and
park according to police direction.

(iii)BLUE AND YELLOW CAR STICKER holders will approach the graduation
venue from CHIROMO CAMPUS, (GATE 10 and 11) and park according to police
direction.

(iv)All guests will be ushered to their respective seats.

(v)University of Nairobi students will be admitted to the Chancellor’s
Court by producing their identity cards.  They should use GATE 5.

(vi)WHITE ESSENTIAL CAR STICKER

This sticker will be used by vehicles carrying out essential services. 
The holders are allowed to use ANY GATE that is convenient without
hindrance. (TRAFFIC POLICE AND NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE STAFF TO NOTE THIS).

(c)DEPARTURE AFTER GRADUATION

(i)The Red Triangular Car Sticker holders will exit through GATE 1  (i.e.
St. Paul’s Chapel, State House Road.)

(ii)The Red Rectangular Car Sticker holders will use GATE 6 next to  
Chiromo Inter-Change( formerly Museum Roundabout) access Road.

(iii)Blue and Yellow Car Sticker holders will use the two exits from
Chiromo Campus (i.e. Gates 10 and 11 via Gate 9).



4.FIRST AID

First Aid facilities will be provided by qualified personnel within the
graduation venue at specific points.  All protocol officers are requested
to take care of all needy cases.
